5.0 out of 5 stars Not just earth colors, thank you.. Sept. 8 2006
By Susan Maresco - Published on Amazon.com
Miriam Rice opens our eyes to the astonishing array of colors that can be extracted from many types of fungi. She names the mushrooms, tells us where to find them and how to dye yarns with them, primarily wool and silk, to get all the beautiful colors you could ever desire.

Now that many years have elapsed since this book was published, I wonder what other magic things she has been up to with fungi and hope she will let us in on her latest finds very soon!
3.0 out of 5 stars Useful Guide for Mushroom Dyers Sept. 14 2014
By Wild Nelly - Published on Amazon.com
This is an out-of-print book that has an extremely useful chart showing what color dye various mushrooms make depending on what mordant is used in the concoction. The rest of the book is typical information that is found anywhere. I was disappointed at how thin the book is compared to the high price of the book. I am mollified only because this book is from a library and is probably sold for fundraising.

this book has so much useful information about natural dying with mushrooms. Miriam was a true inspiration, and I am so glad her knowledge has been captured here.
