This book covers the history of Irish music fairly well. It is approximately 140 pages. The dancing is covered in a mere two pages, but summarizes the state of dancing in Ireland from the second half of the 18th century through the 20th century.

Not much to say, except its worth a read to any student of traditional music, let alone Irish traditional music. There are many great books on this subject, but this one can be read in short order, and covers enough material to help direct further study in specific areas, or satisfy a general survey.- Jim
