Wow,

Fantastic! Fantastic! Fantastic!I never thought Kelly would be able to pull another great album, but she did! The lyrics...so powerful, and her more rock-edge makes the album even better! Brilliant job by Miss.Clarkson, this album is the reason she IS the best Idol to come from American Idol. She deserves all the credit & success!

Kelly really impresses with her third album,

This review is from: My December (Audio CD)
This album was a big surprise. It's a very strong and enjoyable CD. There's a lot more acoustic guitar than I was expecting, and a few really organic sounding songs. There's a tentative, quietly pleading love song in "Maybe" and a haunting ballad called "Irvine" with a quiet guitar and I think an organ. "Judas" is a brutal and easy to identify with, song about betrayal. The best song might be her second single "Sober", beautiful with an amazing pay-off in the last third. Plus there's a fantastic hidden track "Chivas" about her choosing whiskey over a jerk ex-boyfriend. It's both what you'd expect from Kelly Clarkson but different too, the music definitely takes some interesting turns in places. It's an impressive disc that I heartily recommend, whether you're an existing fan or not.

Kelly Clarkson's "My December" is moving up a step from her last album, "Breakaway". There are many similar elements from her last album, and still some catchy single worthy material in songs like "Never Again" and "Don't Waste Your Time", but Kelly has definitely shown a sense of growth in her songwriting.Gone are the days of radio-friendly tunes that will constantly be stuck in your head a la "Since U Been Gone" and "Behind These Hazel Eyes", as most of the stuff on this album is not Top 40 material. This however, is not a bad thing, but actually quite refreshing. Kelly Clarkson is the last performer I'd expect to hear such a raw, angsty, heartfelt album from. Songs like "Hole" and "Haunted" are something new and experimental for Kelly, with smashing guitar licks and angsty lyrics... it's nothing like anything on the Billboard Charts today. The record label hesitated on releasing this album because of it not being radio-friendly enough, but I'm glad they let her go through with it, it's probably the closest to Hole or Stevie Nicks that we're gonna get to for quite a while. The only downer on this album is "One Minute", I just can't get into that song... I'm not sure why. Standout tracks include "Hole" "Haunted" "Maybe" and the hidden track at the very end of the album. Don't let the household name hold you back, and pick up your copy TODAY!
