Rubbish Aug. 17 2013

This book is a waste of money it doesn't even use standard arabic but rather Egyptian dialect to label things- the Pictish are nice but the labels are confusing for little ones as it is not clear what Images match the words- my son hates this book and I hate reading it to him- only has a few pages also

Great starter book--4.5 stars really! May 13 2013

The only reason that I do not rate this at 5 stars, is I would like to see more words....and Amazon does not allow half stars. The number one reason I really like this book is because along with the picture, English word and Arabic word, there is phonetic (English) pronunciation of the word. So if you do not read Arabic, you can still learn what the Arabic word is.
Just as a note, this is neither a small book nor a large one. It is very thin, but it is an awkward shape. about 8x9. Some people prefer specific dimensions, and this one is not a normal sized book.
I highly recommend this book (and the other "My First Book of ..... Words") for children and beginners of the language alike.

My First Book of Arabic Words July 15 2012
By Dar Alsadeeq Children Arabic Books Publishing House - Published on Amazon.com

As the title of the book indicates, it is the first book of Arabic words for learn many objects names that is found in a house. It is a fun little book in English and Arabic to encourage non-Arabic speakers, especially kids to go around their houses and learn many of objects names in Arabic in fun (game likeway)as a confidence builder to encourage them to start learning Arabic. The book assigned each word with a picture and the object name is provided in both English and Arabic. I recommend this book

Excellent before a trip to an Arabic speaking country June 3 2014
By The Educational Tourist - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
As a travel writer of travel guides for kids, I'm always looking for books that can help bring a culture or country to life for children. Being able to speak a few words in the native tongue is an important way to feel closer to the culture you came so far to see. Words like, "yes, no, thank you, please" are a good way to start.

The photos are large and colorful and easily labled in Arabic, English with phonetics to know how to pronounce a word.

A must read for kids before heading to an Arabic speaking country!

I thought it would be thicker. I'm worried my kids will tear the pages since it's so flimsy. The layout is good.
