I think I looked at every First Communion prayer book available. Many of them are mired in a treacly sentimental religious nostalgia. Since kids today are exposed to media, books, etc., if you give them a prayer book that looks like it could have been printed in 1955, we are going to turn them off early to a full appreciation of the Mass.
This book was better than most. It's style was clean and straightforward, with photographs. The back of the book still had blurry representations of religious art for the Life of Christ.
