What happened!!!
This book has nothing to do with the others in the series. It is a time travel and sf book. Do not waste your money. Her other books in the series were much more enjoyable.

The story is really well written and the characters are incredibly interesting!
Yes its a time travel story ... so what? I will admit when I started reading it (at 11pm) it threw me for a loop, lol, and by midnight I couldn't read it anymore. The next morning through I forced myself to pick it back up despite my confusion and I am sooo thankful I did.
Lori Foster is my favourite author of this type of book and I am never disappointed and I am personally annoyed when I hear people diss this book.
For those of you reading this series, Michael is the guy that sleeps with Simons girlfriend (he didn't know who she was). If you think about it, Lori Foster would have had to spend so much time writting away peoples assumptions of him and this way you get to see someone given a second chance (those stories let alone are awesome!)
The secondary story, the plot beneath it all was so much fun to go through and the secondary characters were a nice change from the ones in the other stories.
I love the world that she created!!!

Michael Manchester was a minor character in the second novel of this SBC series where he befriends Dakota, who is the main love interest of Simon Evans in that novel, and turns out to be a very decent guy. (Just wanted to correct a misconception, I noticed in another person's review they mentioned that Michael was the one who slept with Simon's ex-girlfriend Bonnie, which isn't the case, it was actually Harley Handleman, who is featured in the third novel of this series.)

To keep it brief, I enjoyed Lori Foster's other books in this series and expected to enjoy this one as well, what surprised me was the direction that this story took becoming more of a sci-fi/fantasy. It was certainly different and a bit strange to get used to, but I found it humourous and likable enough; the romance between Michael and Kayli was 'sweet'. I'd advise reading this novel with an open mind and to just immerse yourself in this different world rather than the general SBC world of the series.
