Piers Faccini ‎- My Wilderness Oct. 4 2013
By scoundrel - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Piers Faccini's MY WILDERNESS certainly has the folk mood nailed down... but wild? Maybe not so much. The cello on "No Reply" helps tame things, certainly, and "The Beggar & The Thief" has a hint of gypsy horns and strings. "Tribe" is a deep blues dirge, while "That Cry" moves at a brisk pace. The title track itself has a nice twang in its guitar, with some hints of Arabic music in the background, and "Dreamer" brings back those gypsy horns and rhythms. The strings get a little weepier on "Say But Don't Say," but "Strange Is The Man" and "Drowning In My Sleep" have a simplicity to them that also speaks volumes. He goes for a bit of spoken word with "And Still The Calling," but it doesn't get too out of hand. A nice, solid album.
relaxing Nov. 7 2011

This is really relaxing music. It has a taste of Jack Johnson going. I am definitely looking forward to more albums from this guy. Highly recommended.
