4.0 out of 5 stars In my opinion, the best book written by Diana Palmer Mar 19 2000
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I like this book because it is so different from all of the other books Diana Palmer has written. There is no mention of Texas or oil men. The book is about a mystery writer and a previous software millionaire. He is hiding out while he tries to make his millions again and she is taking care of her kid brother and writing a new mystery. The plot is more involved than Diana Palmer's usual style and I thought all of the characters were interesting and well thought out. I wish she would write more like this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE WITH HUMOUR AND A GREAT COME-BACK! July 15 2003

[read the Silhouette Romance #1210 - the 50th Fabulous Father collection]

Softwear tycoon Canton Rourke is in Cancun, Mexico with his daughter Kari to relax and make a personal contact with her. He loves her mystery books but can't stand authoress's. She spins him a tale of her identy.
Janie turns out to be very innocent but willing.

Mystery author, Janine Curtis is also in Cancun with her twelve year old brother, Kurt and her parents, Dan & Joan Curtis, both professors at Indiana University. Dan and Joan were on a dig in Yucatan. She can't stand the very rich and socializing but he resembles her favorite villion on the science fiction channel. (g)

Kurt and Kari could get up to no end of mischief but were most engaging youngsters. Some suspicious man keeps watching and following the youngsters and causes Janie some concern.
Was kidnapping his plan?

You will love the exchange and humour between twenty-four year old Janie and thirty-nine year old Canton and some drool humor from Kurt.

Janie accidently get kidnapped and stirs up Canton's protective instincts, then there is the hurricane to watch out for and pothunters on the trail of the Mayan treasure. And oh, some much fun!

We also meet Diago Laremos and his wife, Melissa from D. Palmer's "Soldier of Fortune" series #3 [opps! I can never seem to get my books in order]

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - Great plot - Great characters - great humour - excellent all the way around.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nothing new... Jan 10 2007
By Krystal - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Although some people might say that this is different from anything Diana Palmer has written, I have to disagree. This book seems like Diana Palmer didn't put much effort into it.

Novel is about a man who is a tycoon working his way back up the ladder of success. He has a daughter (Karie) and is spending some time in Cancun. Janine is a novelist who is also spending some time in Cancun, but with her brother (Kurt).

I really don't find anything interesting about the book. Diana has written many novels about women who are novelists and try to put up an image of themselves that make them look cheap. I dont see how this adds to the novel. It is very predictable that towards the end the male is going to find out about her real life and get upset, etc.

The characters arent too strong. Towards the end, their relationship ends abruptly and then comes together in an awkward way.

Overall, the story is nothing special. I guess if you are a Diana Palmer fan like me, you'll want to read it, but its not one of my favorites.
