Product Description

2009 release, the second volume of tracks taken from the soundtrack of the hit TV show NCIS including Bob Dylan's 'California', a never-before-released track that originally dates from the artist's Bringing It All Back Home sessions. Vol 2 is the all-star follow up to the highly successful Volume One Soundtrack released earlier this year, which marked the new standard for the integration of music into prime-time television storytelling. The album features 12 tracks from some of music's biggest names, including Dylan, Norah Jones, John Mellencamp, Sheryl Crow, Joss Stone, Saoisin and Suck Puppies. Ten of these tracks are exclusive and available only on NCIS: The Official TV Soundtrack - Vol 2.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful collection Jan. 1 2010
Format:Audio CD
As a fan of NCIS naturally I purchased both soundtracks. They both have a wonderful selection of artists. Plus its so much fun to hear a song on the soundtrack, then watch an episode and be able to pick out the song!! I would def. recommend the purchase. Another added bonus is that actual cast members from the show like Michael Weatherly (Tony DiNozzo) and Pauley Perrettee (Abby) sing a couple of their own songs.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good collection of exclusives. Feb. 8 2010
By C. Way
Format:Audio CD
The best answer as to why I scored this 4/5 instead of 5/5 was that there is no surprise here. This disc is similar to disc 1 of NCIS: The Official TV Soundtrack. If you read my review there you'll know that's not a bad thing. A soulful, bluesy collection with a lot of exclusive tracks. Simply stick this collection in the player and listen straight through.

5.0 out of 5 stars NCIS: The Official TV Soundtrack Vol. 2 Nov. 2 2009

I like several of the artists on this soundtrack, however, I must say that Michael Weatherly's song "Bitter and Blue" stands out as my favorite for volume 2 just as Cote De Pablo's "Temptation" is my favorite from volume 1. The music for this show continues to amaze me as does the outside talents of the actors and actresses that may not have been known before these soundtracks came out.

4.0 out of 5 stars NCIS The Official TV Soundtrack, Vol. 2 Dec 29 2009

Music from the original show which you often hear in the background. I was interested in Michael Weatherly's musical debut which I found quite different than I expected...but not unpleasant, kind of the blues. Good beat, nice mix. I would recommend it to those who like the show.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great CD Nov. 2 2009

I have music by most of these artists. Joss Stone is good and I love the older songs. But I have to agree, the Michael Weatherly song " Bitten And Blue" is my total favorite! NCIS is on FIRE and they keep coming with the hits! Can't wait to see what they do next!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Present, Good CD Feb. 14 2010
By DeeMoe - Published on Amazon.com

I bought this CD as a Christmas present for my brother, along with the NCIS Vol. One CD. My brother is a dedicated fan of the show and these two CDs made a great present for him. I listened to this CD myself and liked most of what I heard. My favorite track was "California" by Bob Dylan. I also loved the track by Otis Redding. Then, again, I can listen to anything by Otis Redding and be amazed! I would recommend this CD for anyone who is a fan of the show and for those who don't watch (for five stars for the next volume, if there is a next volume, I would recommend a few more old-school, ballad-type entries along the lines of Nora Jones).

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent background tracks to killer TV show March 6 2012
By Jim Clark - Published on Amazon.com

When NCIS first appeared, I gave it a shot. I was a big Mark Harmon fan, especially his acting in The Presidio and The Deliberate Stranger, where he portrayed serial killer, Ted Bundy. But to be honest, the rest of the characters were a little to weird and quirky, even for me.
As years passed, and TV got worse, I was drawn back in and today frequently catch myself watching the new NCIS shows or the old reruns.
So by the time I got NCIS: The Official TV Soundtrack - Vol. 2 soundtrack in the mail, I was an avid fan.
It didn't hurt that the first song "California" was by my man -- Robert Allen Zimmerman (better known as Bob Dylan).
Other notables who contributed to the soundtrack include Norah Jones, Joss Stone, John Mellencamp, Sheryl Crow and Otis Redding. John's "Someday the Rains Will Fall" is especially cool because he recorded during the summer of 2009 in room 636 of the Gunter Hotel in San Antonio, Texas - the same room blues legend Robert Johnson recorded many of his classic songs in 1936.
There's also a knockout little number, "Bitter and Blue" by cast member Michael Weatherly (Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo).
