Beware: the price is great, the packaging is better then the original full series box set but other then that you are taking a gamble if you buy this set...why?...because, some of the discs don't work...and if you aren't willing to watch all 55 discs before your return/exchange policy has expired then you are stuck with the flawed discs...I don't mind the poor sound and picture quality on some of the episodes that have not been remastered but I do mind when a disc skips, or has image distortions that look like missing pixels, or sound distortions that sound like finger nails on a blackboard or discs freezing in my machines...Disc 6 from season 2 has image, pixel and sound distortions and season 3 disc 1 froze in my players...not sure if the individual season box sets have higher quality or if they are all bad...but instead of wasting your money you may want to watch it on line or wait for a Blu-ray edition...if you visit the amazon.com website you will read that other buyers have had the same issues so I don't think it's just me...hope this helps...and if you do decide to buy it...I really hope all your 55 discs are fine...

"Poohzilla" pretty much summed it up. Lots of discs either didn't work or would skip. I realize that the show is going back a long time (1970's) but the quality is terrible for the most part. Some episodes looked better than others but the majority were not cleaned up at all...they looked like their vhs counterparts.
I had to return this set and feel bad because my wife ended up selling all of her single dvd box sets she owned earlier. Now she's without any dvd's and we have to start over again buying them one set at a time. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. My wife was looking forward to this nice box set too. If you really want to own this show, I suggest buying the seasons separately. I believe they have been repacked into a new slimmer look. They don't have those folding layers anymore. Not sure if that's a good thing or not.
But definitely steer clear of this set. Even if it were only $20 bucks, what's the point if alot of the discs don't work properly??? Save headaches and your money. DO NOT BUY.

Watching this show again has been a treat. I have introduced it to my 19 year old daughter and she loves it too. Very nice packaging CD's in a "Binder" type folder. Thanks!

A Keepsake
Could be a little more "keepsake" ish, the wheels should be real wood, not laminated..it has great special features which is the real seller and ONLY difference from the box sets. Read more
