The Cosby Show has to be my absolute all time favorite sitcom. For that, I would always give it a 5+ star rating. But as a Customer from Calgary wrote, each episode in this DVD collection has been cut, which is the reason for my 1 star rating. Major scenes relating to the plot in each episode have been slashed however images of these omitted scenes appear during the end credits which makes no sense. Here's an example from the episode entitled "One More Time":

The synopsis of the episode, which is found right in the DVD booklet, is as follows:
"Clair baby-sits for a newborn baby and realizes she might want to have another child. The only problem is that Cliff doesn't think it's a good idea. In an effort to change Clair's mind, he introduces her to Mrs. Burke, a patient of his who is expecting child number 13. But his plan backfires when Clair is awed by how good Mrs. Burke looks."

Everything after the words "...good idea." In the above synopsis DOES NOT appear in the episode in this DVD collection. Keep in mind that EVERY single episode in this collection contains similar omissions. Buyer Beware.

I would like to correct some misinformation provided by "A customer from Wisconsin". There are 2 menu play options on this DVD: play all or play by selecting an episode. For each episode, you can select 1 of 4 acts, thereby bypassing the opening theme. I enjoyed The Cosby Show as much today as I did in the 80's. Excellent family entertainment... it's too bad they don't make'em like that anymore!

First, I love the Cosby Show. I love the dynamics, stories and characters. Good wholesome fun. BUT, I am outraged at the producers of the DVDs. Being an advid fan, I noticed that each episode has been cut. This DVD set has been edited, not allowing the Cosby Show shine it is entirety. Shame on you, producers of the DVD!
