Whats in the box? 5 stars worth!, Jun 4 2008
This review is from: NEW Seasons 1-3 (DVD) (DVD)
You're getting all 68 episodes (Including Pilot and Finale) spread out across 11 single sided discs. There is no flipper discs period. Each disc has 5 episodes on it, which brings me to my only complaint.
These are the same as the US releases seen here on Amazon (Priced at 20 apiece) 1st and 3rd season have 4 discs each, and the 2nd season has 3 discs. While picture quality is not up to our standards of say, Lost. This wasn't a high profile show to begin with. The show could look better, I'm not going to lie. But as long as you have a good TV, it certainly looks better then when it was broadcasted. Maybe not by a lot, but certainly better.
The quality complaint is mostly aimed at the first season though. Season 2 and 3 look much cleaner and clearer. At a price of $33, I'd expect much worse. Quality's no more worse then the first few seasons of the X-files.
So again, you're getting the complete series, all 4 seasons in there American release form. Meaning season 3 and 4 were combined to make a single 3rd season. No special features though, but no flipper discs. I got this for $33 on Amazon.ca, which is very cheap for a complete show with 68 episodes.
It doesn't look like Due South is getting a re-mastered Blu-ray treatment anytime soon. This is the most affordable way to get the complete show.
Did I ever mention how great the show is?

Due South Collection, Jan 15 2012

Excellent content. Video quality is certainly not the HD we enjoy today, but is representative of the day. All in all, glad to add it to my collection.

Classic Canadian Humour, July 12 2009
This review is from: NEW Seasons 1-3 (DVD) (DVD)
As long as there are Mounties, this show will remain a classic show of witty, dry, Canadian Humour. Constable Benton Fraser naively carries on a clean fight against crime. Smarter and more subtle than Sergeant Renfrew. Great value for a timeless show. The only downer is that the American cutting dropped some of the Canadian humour.
