NEW Simpsons - Season 20 (Blu-ray)

It was quite disappointing to realize there is no special features, and the one special feature they had was only a review. I do wish they had put more work into as I was expecting more from them. They will probably read release it if you enjoy their audio commentaries that would be the time to get it. If you just enjoy the show and want to watch the HD switchover wait until it gets cheaper.

Like an idiot I bought this set thinking it would be just like the 13 other seasonal sets that have been released so far. It's not!!!! This is nothing but a cash grab and a middle finger to the fans of the Simpsons. There are no commentaries, no introduction by Matt Groening, no extras, no nothing. Even the packaging is terrible. This packaging couldn't be cheaper if they put the discs in a paper bag and threw them at your head. The whole deal feels like Fox showing their contempt for the loyal fans that have kept this show going for two decades. You would think the release of the 20th season would be a celebration and an excuse to do something special for the DVD release. No doubt there will be a ultimate edition of season 20 sometime in the future, so smucks like me will be tempted. It's this kind of contempt for the consumer that helped wipe out the music industry. Too often studios play these games with over priced DVD's and minimal extras, only to re-release the whole thing with special and ultimate editions. I'm not playing this game anymore. It's because of nonsense like this people feel justified downloading illegal copies off the Net. I feel I got ripped off and didn't get what I thought I was paying for. I'm so choked I think I'm going to try to get my money back from Fox. Don't waste your money like I did.

I bought this DVD set thinking it would be like the last 13 seasons released on DVD, filled with special features, commentaries, deleted scenes, commercials, artwork and other neat stuff. I was dead wrong. This set was thrown together just so they could get it out on time for the 20th anniversary of the show and includes nothing more than the bare-bones minimum of the episodes themselves. I'm guessing that they will just re-release it when they get to season 20 in the natural progression of the standard season box sets, so save your cash for that set, as it will no-doubt be full of all the glorious extras that we are used to.
