Great Documentary!!,

I read the other reviews and I thought this was great. Lots of behind the scenes insight from child to adult. Basically telling his hockey life story. He describes special moments in his career and emotions that go along with those moments. This is not just a highlights disc which to me is perfect, although all his career achievments are included and highlights of those moments are here as well. Awesome.

As other reviewers have stated there is way too much of the talking heads segments and not enough hilites.But even with the so-called five greatest games on here you're better off buying the Edmonton Oilers 10 Greatest Games DVD box set as the two of the decent Gretzky games (the '81 50G in 39GP vs. Phil and '84 F vs. NYI Game 5) are on that as well as seven others most of which are in the Gretzky era. Plus the choice of games on this DVD are more the "significant" nature rather than actual "great" games. The Oilers DVD is unlike that at all. All the games on there are great and the choices are very solid. The NHL needs to take a page out of NFL Films and learn how to do documentaries on players and teams.

They dropped the ball (or puck) on this one by not showing nearly enough footage of Gretzky in action. There are 2 discs (in the main package). In Disc 1 Keifer Sutherland narrates??. John Davidson interviews Gretzky and they go through a general overview of Wayne's career hilites. Much more could have been shown and it could have been a great opportunity to ask some really interesting questions. Disc 2 is full of extras like bloopers, ceremonies honoring Wayne, fantasy camp, career stats, interviews with Walter Gretzky and Keifer Sutherland!!?? etc. They could have filled this 2nd disc with hilites instead. The Special Edition thankfully includes 5 bonus games in their entirety (which is why I bought this) but even there they dropped the ball. The games are:- '84 Stanley Cup Finals game 5 (vs NYI) Three of those games are really good (the first 3). As for the other two, they could have picked countless other games to showcase Gretzky.
