I've been told by a lot of people that Disgaea DS is older and what not - but I feel it's still a lot of fun. A grinder's favourite, this game goes on until you wanna stop - which isn't all that often. With random-made item worlds you can always go to new places, and keeping track of all the Geo-panels is still just as fun as any other version of the game. For those who haven't killed their DS yet, it's a fun little portable game of awesomeness that you don't have to bring around your expensive PSPs and things for.

Disgaea DS (Pronounced: Dis-Guy-Uhh)is a Port of a PSP/PS2 game created by Nippon Ichi Software. This was my first experience with a Strategy Role-Playing Game (SRPG) but after a half hour, I found the game mechanics quite enjoyable. You might be wondering how good the battle system is or how it even works, in which case you should check out IGN.com and look-up their review (The battle system is very deep and difficult to explain). What I can tell you is that the game isn't nearly as difficult to pick up as i had expected, in fact my little brother borrowed it, beat it, then bought his own copy!The best part about Disgaea is that after you beat the game (which is very good!!) the REAL game begins! Here are some things you can look forward to after the game is done: -Alternate story mode following a different character -Unique, High level characters that will join your team IF you can beat them! -a New Game+ mode that adds alternate commentary to story events -Leveling your individual items to Lvl 100 -Tons of special bonus maps that have very challenging enemies -a great Multiplayer mode with tons of options Bottom line: Disgaea was the SRPG that set the bar for a reason: There is too much to do, too many different items, and it's way too much fun.

I haven't played the original, so this was my first exposure to the game. I love the characters and plot, the gameplay is really addicting. Also, the new game plus options add a lot of great replayability.My one complaint is the semi-frequent need for hours of grinding. Honestly, who thinks this is a good idea? It keeps getting included in games, so someone must be fond of it, but I find it a bit of a drag.
