What does this album have to offer that groups like NKOTB and Menudo haven't done before? I'll tell you: NOTHING! Their only purpose is that of a tribute group for NKOTB - the only way these guys were able to make it off of the tribute circuit is because of their connections, and because I suppose they're photogenic ... women find them attractive for some reason.
We have to hold media outlets such as MTV responsible for their success. It is thanks to them that acts that are all image and no substance (Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Hilary Duff and all the boy groups) have been able to succeed in the industry, while so many talented bands and artists out there are going unnoticed and have to struggle to receive a recording contract. All of these acts have nothing to offer other than sex appeal, yet the promotional muscle of MTV managed to turn them all into multi-platinum superstars.
Going back to the album: It's the same combination of cheesy up-tempo dance pop and tepid cringe-inducing love songs with dated synth-heavy arrangements that we've become accustomed to with the teen pop genre.
