3.0 out of 5 stars A Very Russian Passion, Feb 29 2000
By Madison - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Nadya's Quest (Paperback)
Set in St. Petersburg in 1788 the story revolves around the insatiable lusts of Catherine the Great, who at this time is 60 years old and still going strong. Catherine's lover has fallen for a minor princess and everyone knows it except Catherine. The race to find another stud for the Empress' bed is on.

Nadya is an unwilling pawn in this political game. The daughter of a Polish rebel, she is searching for her only remaining relative, her cousin Marie, who was last seen being dragged to St. Petersburg by Russian soldiers. Along the way she meets a lusty Countess, a debauched Councilor, a rakish General and a contender for the sexual throne who is not exactly what he seems.

This is a fun story. The only problems are the scenes where people are forced to perform various sex acts. It can be argued that they all have motives for participating or allowing themselves to be used, but when that motive is to stay out of jail, how consensual can the sex be? The sex in this story is varied and hot. Russia in 1788 seems to be a place where anything goes!
