Soul Calibur 3 is a great game, and there's no doubt about it that it's a buy.It's basically like Soul Calbur 2 but with quite a few new additions. It's got a GREAT create-a-character mode, with tons of parts to unlock or buy. It's got the Chronicles of the Sword mode which is kind of like a fighting strategy game, very fun but very hard. It's got the new stories for each character, including the new characters. Without a doubt buy it, this is definetly a game you'll wanna add to your collection.

I've played the soul series from 2~4 and I must say that while Soul Calibur 4 is very "pretty", it pales in comparison to the gameplay in soul calibur 3. A lot of the matches I've had with my friends in soul calibur 3 are very fluid and very exciting whereas Soul Calibur 4 breeds much resentment over the lack of smooth flow from one move to the next. As a friend of mine said: "Why can't they just plug in the same gameplay from soul calibur 3 into soul calibur 4 gfx?". Overall, the only bad thing about it is the fact that it's getting rare and it's exclusive to PS2.

Had to reorder this when I went back to play IV the other day and realized THIS was the one with Chronicles and an actually character creator on it.Still a very fun game even years later, prefer Chronicles over Tower too. :D
