THE BEST BOOK OF THE SERIES!,
This review is from: Sign of the Twisted Candles #9 (Hardcover)
I own the entire set of the Applewood re-releases, and this was the best of the lot.Inexplicably the writing of this book was far superior to the rest of the novels in this series (and they were all very good!) Several other readers that I have spoken with agreed that "The Sign of the Twisted Candles" was their fave! I wonder if a different "ghost writer" worked on this particular novel? Hmmmm... I guess that will remain a mystery!

The Sign of the Twisted Candles,
By
This review is from: Nancy Drew 09: The Sign of the Twisted Candles (Hardcover)
Nancy and her friends Bess and George are going to a place called "The sign of the twisted candles". They meet a waitress called Carol. Carol has lived without parents. She was with foster parents. A man called Asa Sidney was locked in a tower. Carol's foster parents were trying to steal Asa Sidney's property when he died at 100 years old. Nancy tries to solve the mystery to save Asa Sidney's property.Nancy drew books are very good because there is a lot of action (kidnapping, fainting, and a lot of jokes). I love the end of chapters, because there are cliffhangers. They are very exciting and it makes us want to read the whole day.

Nancy along with Bess and George befriend a girl name Carol. She lives with her foster parents who go by the name of Whipple. She soon realizes how mean they are to Carol. She also meets a man by the name of Asa Sidney who happens to own the old inn that Carol and her foster parents live in. She soon discovers that the Whipples may be making old Asa Sidney a prisoner in his old house. Later on clues lead her to think that Whipples may be stealing and swindling stuff from Asa Sidney's fortune. With the twisted candles leading the way Nancy uncovers hidden teasures and letters within the old inn. One letter of which may bring closure to an old family fued thats been going on over the years. This book was awesome cover to cover. Lots of suspense and surprises along the way. A true mystery book.
