Product Description

About the Author

Author/artist Masashi Kishimoto was born in 1974 in rural Okayama Prefecture, Japan.  After spending time in art college, he won the Hop Step Award for new manga artists with his manga Karakuri (Mechanism).  Kishimoto decided to base his next story on traditional Japanese culture.  His first version of Naruto, drawn in 1997, was a one-shot story about fox spirits; his final version, which debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1999, quickly became the most popular ninja manga in Japan.

the Art of War June 10 2012
By DSTorre - Published on
Format: Paperback
Naruto Volume 56 is all about the Great War, so expect this mannga to have a lot of fights(the downside is, dont expect the story to move forward much). Thus the tone is very gritty and serious, that theres not even one funny moment in this volume... actually there is one, but its done for the sake of a fight. There are a lot of very cool, powerful, but unknown(to the readers anyway) characters in both sides here, but Kishimoto did a very good job introducing them and explaining their powers. The fights themselves are entertaining, and most are cleverly done. The art is on par with past volumes as well.

My only complain in this volume is that Naruto and other major characters were hardly shown here, some doesnt even show up at all. It almost feels like Kishimoto is just prolonging the story for money purposes(in which I dont blame him). Overall, still a great volume, and 57 should be great.

I might be a little biased because I've been watching/reading Naruto since I was 10! I won't go into detail about the story line because if you're buying volume 56, I'd imagine that you love and know Naruto as much as I do!
Anyway, the packaging and condition it came in was perfect :).

Anyone who is a fan should continue picking these up. A hugely popular series in Japan and the United States, and for good reason. It's entertaining all around, and keep you coming back for more.
