Not yet decided....,
By Shanizle "Shanizle" (Halifax, NS) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Nash Bridges S1 (DVD)
Well...I pre-ordered this DVD...had to have it on the day it came out. I was excited to see the show as I don't remember watching the first season (which is crazy cause I am a HUGE Don Johnson fan). Let's see..my thoughts...well..first off...I hate the fact I paid $40 for 8 episodes...I was ok with it when I knew there were going to be extras on the dvd...but now that I have watched all 8 episodes and the extras...I am not happy I paid $40 for it. The extras...well...lets see...the best one is the audio commentary between Cheech and Carlton on the first episode...they talk candidly about making the pilot and stuff (they do mention that Don had a mishap with his car during a scene..but no one will digress with what really happened). I was very excited for Don's audio commentary on the fourth episode...that was a joke. I wss DISAPPOINTED to say the least...it was a cut of an orignal interview and was not done well...it actually really turned me off of him (and your talking to someone who has bought and watched the entire Miami Vice series over 4 times in the last 6 months). The last extra on the first disc was a round table of all the writers (if you listen to Carlton and Don tell the story about how Cheech got on the show you will see a difference between both their stories about whose idea it was). Again...nothing too fancy...I got the feeling that Don isn't easy to work with...and they mention the car accident again..but quickly move away from it. On the second disk comes some more "extras" which are really just an interview with Don and Cheech from the first season...again pre-recorded before the show even came out..and then a short interview with Don Johnson from 2008...wich really just had him talking about himself and not really remenising about the show...and then the last extra is just how they introduced the show on tv. Really...a waste. As for the episodes...they are typical...and just as I remember the series...it's a cop show with a more human edge to it...a nice cameo from the Miami Vice days (it's crazy to see Izzy speak normally)...I still LOVE the tv show. Am I happy about paying $40 for this season...NO. Will I buy the next 5 seasons when they come out...YES. I like the show...I want the series...but if you can get this one second hand...or at least pay only $20 then you have gotten your monies worth. Hopefully that helps..now...I am going to put Miami Vice back in....

Nash Bridges Here At Last!,

The official DVD release is here, finally!!! After years of patience, waiting diligently for good news, any news, concerning 'Nash Bridges' release on DVD, we can all rest assured that we will have a copy of the first season come October 14th of this year!First of all, let me just say that 'Nash Bridges' is one of the best police drama series of all time, if not the greatest. What made it great was its ability to fuse action, drama, comedy and heartfelt emotion together into one cohesive package that brought a wonderful hour of entertainment each week to millions of fans. I'm sure most of us NB fans are still scratching our heads over why this show was cancelled after six wonderful seasons, because quite frankly there wasn't anything near as entertaining on TV at the time, nor has there been since, with a few exceptions. It was very unfortunate that we did not get a season finale, let a lone a series finale, as it stands the last episode was sudden and without warning, with many plot threads left unresolved which will be left up to our imagination, but there is a bright side to this magnificient series' untimely demise, which is that the wait until we can see it again from the beginning on our DVD players is just a few months away:) Here's to Nash and Joe, one of the best cop teams ever, long live 'Nash Bridges'! 29 of 31 people found the following review helpful

Great show, NO FEATURED MUSIC,
By Tom S. - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Nash Bridges S1 (DVD)
This was probably the release I have most waited for as of yet. A fantastic show finally out on DVD, however, the DVD does NOT CONTAIN THE ORIGINAL MUSIC. CBS must not have secured the lisences to use ANY of the original music featured on the show. After watching the pilot episode, "Big Me" by the Foo Fighters and "Please Call Home" by the Allman Brothers have both been replaced by instrumental overdubs of different music. This is one of my favorite shows of all time, and I for one am incredibly disappointed that the DVD's do not contain any of the music featured in the show. Hopefully, from now on, CBS will obtain the lisences to use the rest of the music featured in the other five seasons.

You will not be disappointed with this show,

It's finally here! I have been waiting on this for so long , that its actual release comes as a shock. One thing's for certain, this show is one of the best, if not THE best crime drama ever made. Yes, even better than Miami Vice, Don Johnson's breakout hit show of the 80's. Don Johnson is an incredible actor, and he is at his best on this show, no doubt about it. And Cheech Marin? What else is there to say except that he is funny as usual, but on this show there's something else about him too. With these characters, you actually get emotionally involved in their day to day jobs and lives. It's just a great show, and awesome supporting cast too. It's just unbelievable that it was canceled after 5 great seasons!
