My five year old son is a huge dinosaur fan, and after borrowing a few dino books from the library, this was the one to buy. Tons of full-colour pictures, some but not too much interesting text, lots of little details woven in, and a list of all the currently known dinosaurs. My favourite part? Clear pronunciation guides for all the dino names. Only disappointment? Contains only dinosaurs - no pterosaurs (that fly) or pleiosaurs (that swim).

I bought this for my grandson who is absolutely fascinated with dinosaurs. He knows them by name, size, what they eat. Do all children go through this stage??
This book was a suggestion from his mom, and what a good one.

He spent hours going through it, sharing it with his grandad, discussing the information about each picture. Broken down into flesh-eaters, plant eaters and omnivores, with a chart on each page to show comparative size, and great pictures it appeals to younger children. Older children will get more from the descriptive text that's included.

It is almost 300 pages and hard cover. It is high quality paper and high quality colour printed book. I am wondering how National Geographic kids make a profit at this price! The price is as good as those cheap useless gossip magazines but the content is anything but like the magazine. I am pretty sure anyone who buys this book will be stunned at the quality of the book and the informatin contained. If it is an adult book, the price the price would be the hundreds. This is a must have book, I can recommend it enough!

This is one of the best dinosaur books I've seen, and I've seen a lot since my son is a fanatic. We borrowed from the library so many times that it only made sense to buy him his own copy. I love how thorough the list of dinosaurs is and it's so great to be able to look up the ones he comes across an wants to know more about.

This book was purchased for my 8 year old grandson who is going to visit a real dinosaur dig in Alberta later in the summer. I thought this book would make the trip even more interesting for him. Other than one picture of a dinosaur eating a smaller bird-like dinosaur which was upsetting to him, the book is excellent.

Best book on dinosaurs I have found yet, and believe me I've seen plenty. It goes into a lot of details for the ages of my kids ( 2, 4 and 6 years old), but it will grow with them. Lots of facts on each dinosaurs and good explanations on dinosaur families, paleontology, etc.
