My son loves this book. He is in first grade and can read the book by himself. He reads to his 4 yr old brother and they will both reiterate facts from the book. Great pictures too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great info about Earth! Dec 1 2012
By Jessica - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I bought this book for my 4 year old son for Christmas because he has been asking about the solar system lately. The book is hard back and decently thick for the $10 price tag. The pictures are very colorful and text is big so young children will not get bored with each page. The only downfall to this book in my opinion is it didn't talk much about other planets, the majority of it is about Earth, Sun, and Moon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Series Dec 31 2012

This book and the entire Nat'l. Geographic Little Kids "First Big Book of" series is awesome. We also bought the First Big Book of Why and we read both every day at the kids' behest. They are written to explain things to little kids, but you'll almost definitely end up learning something you didn't know. We did.

We will probably end up buying every book in this series.

To give you a sense of appropriate ages: Our kids are 2.5 and 3.5 years old and they both understand and enjoy the content.
