From Library Journal
The authors of this introduction are prolific writers of textbooks and introductions to a wide variety of world religious and spiritual topics. In this work, seven chapters arranged geographically encompass not only North American but also Central and South American traditions; the chapters are supplemented by study questions, notes, and a glossary of major cultural groups. There is also a concluding chapter reflecting on the issues of taboo, gender relations, and death. This comprehensive, well-organized presentation is recommended for undergraduate collections and public libraries with Native American collections.
