Zeke, the totally HOT Sheriff, can bring his handcuffs to my bed anytime. While not the best in the series this was still a good wind up to the FL story line. Or I assume it is anyways. This one had a less confusing final showdown...I have found in the other books of this series that there is no real indications of the villain till the last moment and I am left scratching my head thinking "what the hell!?". I would recommend reading this series in order, it will make more sense that way as the characters recur through the series. I was glad to not see one instance of the word "conflaguration" in this book unlike the last few she has done. There was still some repetition in the book but it was also not as prevalent as the last few of her books. I am interested to know which character is going in the Nauti and Wild book with Jaci Burton.

5.0 out of 5 stars soooooooo good!!!, Feb 4 2010
By Liz "Liz" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Nauti Deceptions (Paperback)
I won't bother recapping because the other reviewers did such a good job of that. Yes, it might have had a similar flow to it as the previous books did but it was still unique in its own way. When I read the last one, Janey and Alex's story, we got a good glimpse of Zeke and Rogue. I could tell she was going to be a wild one. A real rebel. After reading about her past and what was done to her, I didn't blame her for feeling like digging her heels in and snubbing her nose at what the town thought of her. However, I was worried that she might be the quintessential "bratty" female in the story which can sometimes be sooooo irritating. Huge chip on her shoulder and nothing but trouble.

However, LL did a great job of writing a tough and stubborn female with a beautifully vulnerable and squishy side too. We never had to wonder if she wanted Zeke all these years. She loved him and wanted him. He was the really stubborn one. But we also LOVE those alpha males too, don't we ladies!? Zeke was incredibly sexy and tough and protective and just plain yummy!!! Their journey was, for sure a rocky one, but immensely satisfying. I mean, if you really know LL's work you'd know that these stories are never smooth sailing. They are jam packed with pain, frustration, agony, etc..... before we get to the creamy filling.

I've read all of LL's work and every one of her series are unique. You don't walk away feeling the same way after every story. I have to say, I absolutely love all of her stories. However, I hadn't had the tummy flips and hot flashes like I had with this one, in a long time. It was intensely sexy and moving. The love scenes......whew!!! I hadn't been affected like this in a long time. I think Zeke's dark and intense needs paired with Rogue's innocence and her need to fly free and let go were a perfect combination. His fear that he might be too much for her and her ability to absolutely match him and each one of his sexual demands, regardless of her inexperience, was incredibly hot. A very satisfying story..... but hopefully not "ending" to the series...?... Am I the only one who felt like the epilogue almost sounded like it was "closing things out"?.... I hope I am wrong.... But I don't know who could be next... Perhaps the Nauti Girls?.... for those of you who have not read it.... you will find out what I mean!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Wanting More...., Feb 16 2010

I read all of Lora Leigh's books, but I've reached the point of some frustration. I like her men, but she seems to stick to her formula and not really explore the type of relationship she keeps hinting. This book is a perfect example of this. It was obvious that the man had some "dark deep needs" and that the woman was willing to be submissive sexually, although she lead a full and real life outside the bed. However, aside from hinting at this and throwing in some silly lines, like "I should spank your for that" Ms. Leigh does not actually explore the topic in any meaningful way. Sweet Persuasion by Maya Banks does explore this issue and I wish that Ms. Leigh would take her great talent and wonderful characters to the realm of more than make believe and write for the educated adult. You'll still enjoy the book, but may be frustrated when you turn the last page.

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 Blue Ribbons from Romance Junkies!, Feb 2 2010
By Natalie S "ns65" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Nauti Deceptions (Paperback)
Lora Leigh continues her highly successful NAUTI series with the story of Sheriff Zeke Mayes and Rogue Walker. Sparks fly between these two enticing characters as Zeke finds out exactly how wild Rogue Walker can be.

Caitlyn "Rogue" Walker has always wanted to be a teacher and has even succeeded. She is a teacher in Somerset, Kentucky and loves every minute of it. That is, until she crosses the wrong people - Dayle Mackay and his deviant lover, Nadine Grace. With one mistake, Caitlyn is set up, and when pictures of her are put on the internet in a ménage a trios, Caitlyn's teaching career comes to a grinding halt. It is then that Rogue Walker is born.

Independent, outspoken and hot to trot, Rogue is a bad girl come to life and every man's dream. She answers to no one, and that is the way she likes it. She stirs up trouble with the best, and while she hides her vulnerability behind her cocky attitude, Sheriff Zeke Mayes knows that there is more to Rogue Walker. And he is willing to delve deep enough to find out what it is. That is when the trouble starts.

Rogue is my hero. Free spirited and tough as nails, she embodies the strength of a woman. Her heart is full of sadness at the change in her life, but she does her best to make the most of her decisions. Zeke, however, is the one man she isn't willing to give up. She has adored him for years, and while he thinks he is not the man for her, Rogue is just as determined to capture this elusive sheriff's heart. Zeke's feelings for Rogue are hard for Zeke to accept; he is older than her by a few years. But love knows no boundaries, and Zeke finds himself mesmerized by and in love with the woman called Rogue.

Completely blown away by this surprising story, I could not put NAUTI DECEPTIONS down. The suspenseful plot line kept me guessing as to the antagonist of the story, and before I knew it, I had read this entire novel in one sitting. Lora Leigh has spun a smoldering hot tale of secret passion and erotic deceptions. Zeke and Rogue's love story is chock full of scintillating sex and delicious romantic encounters. I can't wait for NAUTI DECEPTIONS to release - it is just that evocative!
