This book was incredibly hot. I loved Alex and Janey's story. This book also brought all the characters together more than the others and the tension between Dawg and Alex was priceless. If you are planning on reading Rogue's story which is coming out next I would advise you read this one first. There is some back story that would be interesting to know.

I struggled to finish this book. It seems I'm in the minority, but this was a frustrating read for me. The heroine was, well, stupid...and mean. Alex stayed at night to protect her and left during the day. Well, she thought it was because he didn't want to be seen with her. Uh, no he was trying to catch the bad guy! What even remotely struck her that Alex was the type of guy that would do that? He stood up for her in the very beginning of the book. Now he's embarrassed?? That just didn't make sense. And in the whole book everyone seemed mean or angry all the time. Everyone was either snarling, growling, sneering or yelling. I've also always struggled with couples that were so attracted to each other physically, but don't seem to really like each other outside of the bedroom. I'm talking specifically about Janey. One minute she's snarling something at him, but he wants to have sex, oh she can't resist, let's do it. So they would have sex and then she wouldn't be angry anymore (until they moved out of the bedroom anyway). It seemed that every time they had sex, they were fighting beforehand. It shouldn't always be in anger. Another irritant was that Janey was supposed to be so submissive to her father, yet she had no problem standing up to Alex and her brother. Okay, fine, I can see how that would make sense if she decided she didn't want to be pushed around anymore. Yet she was a doormat when people said nasty stuff to her at HER restaurant. Why wouldn't she stand up for herself there? It drove me nuts and distracted me from the story. Overall this was a disappointment to me. I read the good reviews and was expecting more. I'm still looking forward to the next book and hopefully this is just a one time thing. 15 of 17 people found the following review helpful

Even Mackay in-laws are fun!,
By steamkitty "steamkitty" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Nauti Intentions (Paperback)
A few months ago we left the Mackay brothers of Somerset finalizing the capture of the local terrorist Dayle Mackay, father to Natches, uncle to Rowdy and Dawg, and brother to Ray Mackay. Aside from Dayle's incestuous sister Nadine who falls to a sniper shot, the only casualty was 23-year-old Janey Mackay, Natches' baby sister, who had been drugged by her father and assaulted by her nasty Aunt Nadine and held hostage to prevent Natches from delivering the capture of Dayle, whom no one ever calls father, uncle or brother. Now, Janey is healed, physically, and is running the local restaurant that Dayle, a surprisingly good cook for a really, really bad guy, ran as a money-laundering ploy for his now-defunct terrorist group. A target for mysterious poison pen attacks, Janey finds Alex Jansen her personal guard dog and wanna-be lover. Jansen, an older man, the sniper who did for nasty aunty, has craved the young woman since she was an off-limits tease at 17. Alex must to protect her from both the hidden attacks and the plot-required frequently unpleasant attitude of some of the townsfolk. If you have read the previous Nauti books, the usual male heroes are all back, all testosterone-laden, and the previously-encountered peripheral folks also make, sometimes surprising, appearances. The three younger Mackay men are all married now and expectant fathers, which ups their control issues, natch. The romance starts early, continues along predictable, yet enjoyable, paths, and the denouement, while not totally unexpected, does have some element of surprise. The book is another winner for Lora Leigh, an author who has several very different book concepts running concurrently, producing very well-plotted and hot novels, all of which are on my 'must buy immediately' lists. 7 of 8 people found the following review helpful

5 Blue Ribbons from Romance Junkies!,
By Natalie S "ns65" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Nauti Intentions (Paperback)
Alex Jansen and Janey Mackay definitely have something naughty going on in NAUTI INTENTIONS, Lora Leigh's fourth NAUTI BOYS installment. If Janey's brother Natches finds out what they are doing: there will be major heck to pay. Amazingly, that threat doesn't even slow these lovers down.Alex Jansen is too old and jaded for the likes of Janey Mackay, the younger sister of one of his best friends. Alex knows he is too old, but that doesn't stop him from dreaming and lusting after one tiny little vixen named Janey Mackay. When Janey was drugged by her father and then subsequently threatened by her aunt, Alex thought his heart would stop before he would be able to rescue her. And rescue her he did, and when the smoked cleared, one thing was certain - Janey Mackay was going to be his - no matter what Natches, his family, or even Janey herself had to say about it. Alex has waited long enough, and the intentions he has towards Janey are anything but honorable, and to be honest, they are quite naughty. Because of her abusive father and the control he had over her, Janey Mackay has had no choice but to sit back and watch Alex Jansen almost her entire life. She has loved him for so long she can't even remember when she didn't. However, just because she loves him doesn't mean she is willing to take what he gives her without him loving her back. She isn't willing to settle for handouts - she's earned the right to be independent. But when threats starting coming in, she loses some of that hard won independence when Alex decides he is sticking to her like glue until the danger passes. Janey can only hope that when he is done with her, she will be able to survive with her memories. Lora Leigh's writing skills and innate ability to weave a love story leave me speechless every single time I finish reading and close one of her books. NAUTI INTENTIONS is such a book. I met Alex Jansen in NAUTI NIGHTS, he is Dawg's brother in law, and since then I have been fixated on this alpha male character. Alex is in the armed services and tough as nails. He is not willing to put up with fools, nor is he willing to allow his woman to be in harm's way. "His way or the high way" came to mind more than once reading this enticing book, but it worked for me. He was fiercely protective without smothering and dangerous when threatened. Alex and his sinfully wicked sensuality made me blush more than once but kept me enthralled. Janey Mackay brought out the mothering instinct in me. She had to fight her entire life to suppress her feelings in order to protect her loved ones. Watching Janey blossom from a shy, innately quiet woman to the vixen in love with, and willing to take a chance on, Alex Jansen just made me happy and swooning in anticipation of their love scenes. NAUTI INTENTIONS is my favorite NAUTI BOYS book to date. Readers will be sighing at the love and often times comedic antics of Janey as she tries to bend Alex to her will. I am not sure if that ever happened, but one thing is for certain, their journey was worth every single minute of the time they spent together. Passionate, boldly provocative, and yes, rather naughty - NAUTI INTENTIONS is a must read! Lora Leigh's got another winner on her hands and I am looking forward already to the next installment, NAUTI DECEPTIONS. Natalie S. |
