Product Description

Based on the book by American author Harvey Coben, this French suspense thriller is one of those exhilarating word-of-mouth gems one can't to tell everyone about. Francois Cluzet stars as Alex, a pediatrician whose beloved wife, Margot (Marie-Josee Croze) was shockingly murdered eight years before. As the anniversary of her death approaches, Alex begins to receive cryptic emails and a video that seems to suggest that she is alive. The discovery of two long-buried bodies at the crime scene turn Alex into some kind of Hitchcockian Everyman, implicated in a crime he could not possibly have committed. But when he makes a mad dash from the police who visit him at his office, he seems to have signed his own confession. This synopsis doesn't even begin to hint at the genuinely exciting and surprising twists, turns, and revelations that await Alex in this Chinese box of a mystery. Brilliantly acted by an ensemble that includes Kristin Scott Thomas and French movie icon Jean Rochefort (Pardon Mon Affaire), Tell No One invites repeat viewings, the better to appreciate the intricacies of its plotting and construction. And if you think you have it figured out, there's this from one character who tells Alex at a climactic point, "Wait, there's more." --Donald Liebenson

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow!, Mar 29 2009
This review is from: Ne Le Dis a Personne (Tell No One) (DVD)
For your information: the DVD offers the french version, english-dubbed version and the french version with english subtitle. The movie is excellent. The story is very good, the actors are all perfect. The story is complicated and is being told slowly so if you have to be patient but you will be rewarded. Very, very nice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Foreign thrillers at their best, April 19 2009

We start with Alex (Cluzet) and Margot (Cruzet who you may recognize as the female assassin from Munich) going up to the lake and spending some time together, but when she screams, he gets knocked out and wakes 3 days later to find that she has died it all falls apart. Then skip forward eight years and he is sent and email, sees what looks like her looking at an airport videocamera in real-time. This sets off an amazing set of events that make this a top notch thriller/mystery, which can be watched with English dubbing, or subtitles to go along with the original French speaking.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic on all Fronts, Mar 9 2009

I visited to purchase the film which I saw on the big screen months ago. Having seen one one-star review, I submit the following.

This movie competes with each of the 2009 Oscar nominees. From beginning to end, the viewer is captivated by a novel and exciting plot which is enhanced by some amazing acting performances. In my opinion, the end is a little sappy but that does not change my belief that this is a fantastic film and a 'must have' for my collection.
