Product Description

Working for corporate America is a miserable experience. Can you escape with your soul intact? Is it possible to live a creatively realized life in corporate America? This book explores these questions with wit, insight and dazzling literary effect. Presented in the style of an illustrated modern-day alchemy book, "Necktie for a Two-Headed Tadpole" examines the creative process in the context of modern corporate living. Creativity, the book makes plain, is a complex alchemy of ideas and impulses rooted in the individual's unique spirit and experience, a reality fundamentally in conflict with the purposes and operational demands of corporate life. This book makes it clear that living and dying at your job every day in the corporate workplace is a problem. The only way to live a creatively realized life in corporate America, in fact, is to get out of corporate America! If you're creative but you're still working for corporate America, then you have to read this book!

This is my favorite book... its pure genius. To keep it simple, life is a beautiful thing and no one can describe it better than Jason Murk.

5.0 out of 5 stars Astonishing!, April 13 2006
By Hilary Sara - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Necktie for a Two-Headed Tadpole: A Modern-Day Alchemy Book (Paperback)
I bought this book because I found a postcard with the cover at my local bookstore. Something compelling about the image, about the title, and I am so glad that I decided to read the book! It may be the strangest and most wonderful thing I've ever read. I wasn't prepared for such breathtaking language, such imaginative imagery, such bold ideas. I'm not sure if this is a novel or a prose poem or a self-help book; all I know is that it's inspiring and deep and hilarious, and that if you're the kind of person who likes books that are way out of the mainstream, you'll love this one! I only wish that it were longer -- the writing is so amazing that I just wanted to keep reading. Stay out of corporate America, Mr. Murk, and please give us more of your incredible prose!

5.0 out of 5 stars Into the whirlpool, April 22 2006
By Sasha Wynski "Sashie" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Necktie for a Two-Headed Tadpole: A Modern-Day Alchemy Book (Paperback)
Jason Murk's, Necktie for a Two-Headed Tadpole, is the best book on creativity I have read since Roger von Oech's A Whack on the Side of the Head. Situational creative problem-solving exercises pepper von Oech's book. Murk's book delves deeper. Creativity is personal and progressive. Tadpole offers a series of parables and 16th century woodcut analyses enticing the reader deeper, looking beyond the obvious, and heading into the ambiguous inner whirlpool. Whirlpool? No, wait - I mean creativity. Murk promises: "You will be given a vision of yourself as you ought to be."
He delivers.
