No Fun For You!,
Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Need For Speed The Run (Limited) (Video Game)
The soup nazi once said, No Fun For You! From Most Wanted, to the latest installment of the Need for Speed series, the Run is ranked the 2nd worst Need for Speed game in the franchise of this current generation, only ProStreet holds that title of being the worst. After an excellent job on Most wanted by EA Canada, Black Box has simply flushed the series down the toilet. Don't get me wrong, they are playable, it's just that they don't have a long lasting appeal and aren't worth holding on to. With Slightly Mad Studios taking on Shift and Shift 2: Unleashed, impressive as the first one was, the 2nd one wasn't par with the first one and did not live to the hype and expectations, but still a good game nonetheless. Criterion Games/Dice take on Hot Pursuit was simply excellent and pure fun. The Run in the other hand doesn't have that appeal, it's just mediocre. Play it once, beat the game and that's it. I suggest renting this game first, or if you're a Need for Speed follower, than by all means go ahead and buy, but do it so at a price drop.

More of the New Era of Racing for EA,

Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Need For Speed The Run (Limited) (Video Game)
Racing with EA in the Need For Speed series is always a blast. But recently, EA has been concentrating more on the movie-style elements of the game, such as the storyline and movie segments. But they have more or less completely removed the vehicle customization aspect. After selecting your vehicle, you are given a choice of 2-5 "style packs" of preassembled wheels, body kits, spoilers, etc. Then you have a limited range of colors for each "style pack". Besides this small, but important, defect, the selection of vehicles continues to include the classics of yesteryear, such as the Supra, original Charger, Challenger and 'Stang. Otherwise thought, the game is still loads of fun.
