Product Description

Review

"Block off the weekend, grab a comfy seat and prepare for the rocket ride of your life! Never Knowing will consume you with the desire to read every page, gasp at every twist and know every last secret between one woman and her serial killer father."--Lisa Gardener, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Love You More

"NEVER KNOWING is a chilling thriller with enough twists and turns so every time I thought I knew where it was going I was taken somewhere else. I have a feeling that Chevy Stevens is an author who is going to keep getting better and better with each book! I hope I'm still around for the next six -- at which point she'll probably give me a heart attack. But what a great way to go out!"--Lois Duncan, author of I Know What You Did Last Summer.

“A terrifying, chilling scenario that unfolds into a nightmare and had me keeping the light on at night.”--Rosamund Lupton, bestselling author of Sister

" Stevens takes us on a wild ride in this action-packed book." --The Globe and Mail

"Stevens's unnerving stand-alone thriller about a woman's search for her birth parents matches the intensity of her impressive debut.... the skillful storytelling never flags." --Publishers Weekly

"As finely calculated in its escalating suspense as Stevens’ grueling debut." --Kirkus Reviews

"Stevens’ second novel is a knockout, starting strong and finishing even stronger." --RT Book Reviews

"If you love racing through a psychological thriller, or if you’re interested in writing within this genre, read both of these novels back to back and witness the development of a talented new storyteller." --National Post

"The action is non-stop and the story flows without a bump." --Seattle Post Intelligencer

"This is an excellent beach read because you'll find you can't put the book down for more than a moment once you pick it up, so have an open day planned." --The Surrey Now

"Never Knowing is a thrilling read.... Stevens is establishing herself as a writer who can be counted on to deliver an exciting story, told through compelling characters." --BC Local News

Some truth are absolutely better left unknown. A gripping suspense that leaves you with a sense of wonder and fear. Would recommend to anyone.

The basic plot is that Sarah was adopted as a baby and she wants to find her birth parents. What she discovers is horrific, and sets the plot in motion since this is all discovered in the first few pages. The basic plot is that Sarah was adopted as a baby and she wants to find her birth parents. Chevy Stevens writes well, similar to many other popular authors who write many books (think of James Patterson, for example). She draws you in to this story, and this book is told during the main character's (Sara) therapy sessions so you really get to hear her honest thoughts and feelings.

This is a thriller, but it's more psychological than action-packed. Sara's own emotional issues and responses are probably the most fascinating draw of the book as she finds herself trapped without any real escape. There are shocking twists along the way, and while the book really isn't a mystery it is an exciting ride to go on.

It's hard to put down, and really doesn't take long to read if you sit down over a couple days and really immerse yourself in the story and characters. For myself, I found it fascinating to see the family relationships play out, especially the biological similarties Sara starts to notice after a while between herself, her birth father, and her daughter. People who come from interesting family backgrounds (particularly those with difficult parents) would probably enjoy this, as would those who enjoy the thriller genre.

(Please note that I won an ARC in a Goodreads giveaway but this review is 100% my own opinion).

What an excellent book and what a writer! You can believe every word she writes. It's almost as if she's lived it herself. A bit far fetched at the end possibly and you never want to put the book down

A great novel, although a little far fetched in some places - I seriously doubt that the serious crime squad would spend time with their cases, bringing them food and doing household chores!
Having said that, I found the book hard to put down, and there were some great twists to the story.

Sara Gallagher appears to have it all - a thriving business, a loving fiance, and a beautiful daughter. However, as the adopted child of a couple with two biological daughters, she has always felt like an outsider. Her quest to find her birth mother sets off a terrifying chain of events which threatens to destroy everything Sara has and, too late, she realizes that there are some things you are better off never knowing.

Never Knowing, by Chevy Stevens, is a fast-paced thriller that will grip you from the first page and keep you on the edge of your chair until the very end. So be warned - don't make the mistake I did and begin this book near bedtime because, once you start Never Knowing, you won't be able to put it down.
