Product Description

SHE THINKS SHE KNOWS ABOUT LOVE. HE VOWS TO TEACH HER ABOUT DESIRE.

After six years at a Philadelphia finishing school, former tomboy Emma Malloy is coming home to Whisper Valley, Montana, as a sophisticated lady. Little does she know that the decades-old feud between the Malloys and the Garrettsons has escalated into a full-scale range war. Nor does she expect that her archenemy, Tucker Garrettson, whose stolen kiss she still can’t forget, has become a rugged, handsomer-than-sin cowboy who wants to hang her father and take her prisoner—in his arms.

She is proud, beautiful, and bossy. And even though Emma is a Malloy, Tucker wants her badly. Here they are, caught in a blood feud, and all he wants to do is take her once and get her out of his mind. No man can outgun him, but can this infuriating beauty make him surrender his freedom and believe in love?

Ingram

Upon her return from a posh eastern boarding school, Emma Malloy is one of the most beautiful, well-educated, and sharp-tongued young ladies in Montana. Life on her father's cattle ranch hasn't changed--including the simmering feud between the Malloys and the Garrettsons. In spite of the rift, Emma falls in love with young Tucker Garrettson. But before they can make a new life together, Emma and Tucker must settle the family feud once and for all.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad..., May 2 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Never Love a Cowboy (Mass Market Paperback)
This book started out VERY formula (i.e. hero and heroine really hate each other). In fact, if I read one more "Damn you, Garretson!" "Damn you Malloy!" I was going to slap the both of them upside the head! But then the story got better...much better. The characters started becoming more 3 dimensional and had some good sides, not just bad. And Emma and Tucker's physical attraction to each other! Wowee! Like magnets - the two of them. The whodunit mystery was very well done, too. I thought I had the villain figured out from the beginning but I was wrong! So all in all - worth reading. Good, likable characters (once you got through that opening section) and a pretty fast enjoyable read. P.S. A small aside: the inside cover art of Emma and Tucker was dead-on accurate. Loved it!

2.0 out of 5 stars not so good, Feb 20 2009

This review is from: Never Love a Cowboy (Mass Market Paperback)
I have read before "Forever After", "Night Thunder", "Wolf River" which I loved. But this one was weak. The characters are shallow, they don't ring true. The story goes bumping along but for me never took off. It begins a little like Romeo and Juliet in the West, it could be interesting but, I repeat, the characters weren't interesting. Even secondary characters are shallow. I will try other books by her because I think maybe this one was only a bump in the road.
