Real world advice from a seasoned entrepreneur,

I've read a lot of books offering advice to entrepreneurs and Seven Habits Of Highly Effective People is still my favorite. Although Peter's book does repeat a lot of the practical advice contained in many of these books, he also offers some gems of wisdom not found elsewhere. Most self-help books of this nature are written by people that have never really been through the trials of building a company. Peter has been there, done that and shares some of the most important lessons he learned from his greatest successes and failures. This book does not contain any philosophical revelations, but it does contain the wisdom of a highly successful entrepreneur who speaks frankly and openly about what it truly takes to succeed. I read this book years ago and would be further ahead today if I had truly embraced more of his hard earned lessons.

Entertaining, Educational, and Inspirational,

This wonderful book is an autobiography of Canadian entrepreneur Peter Thomas. He was essentially a Canadian version of Donald Trump. He has a very entertaining writing style and describes his personal and professional escapades throughout his life from early childhood to his retirement at age 50 in the late 1980s. The underlying theme throughout the book is Peter Thomas revealing the aspects of his character (Attitude, Motivation, Commitment) which contributed to his natural success as an entrepreneur.Even if you the reader are not an entrepreneur, this book will surely provide an entertaining read if nothing else. However for those readers who feel the entrepreneurial spirit within them, this book provides a great candid look into how a single individual can grow up in a relatively poor childhood, yet finish their life as a millionaire. A well written rags to riches story. |
