I was greatly impressed by Anthony's first CD album and said so in an Amazon review. This CD emerged late in 2006 and, while it has sold well in Australia, it has not done nearly as well as the earlier album. That's a pity because this is a more interesting and more mature work. It has been composed largely by Anthony and the melodies, lyrics and sound textures are always impressively professional. Anthony, a pop singer if ever there was one, even ventures towards some rock textures in some of these songs, "Addicted to You" for example, and he gets away with it. Anthony's voice is as rich and strong as always. The CD is beautifully presented with excellent photography and art work. 2006's AUSTRALIAN IDOL winner, Damien Leith, is like Anthony in many ways and will give Anthony a run for his money on the Australian charts. But that is good, both for the artists and for the industry. So long as Australia has artists of this calibre producing material of such quality and interest we are fortunate. Also, so long as AUSTRALIAN IDOL gives a boost to artists such as Damien and Anthony long may the show prosper.
