Damaged,
This review is from: New Children's Encyclopedia (Hardcover)
I was very disapointed when I opened the book and the spine along the inside was cracked open. Not happy, don`t feel like sending it back either because the other items we got were fine. Perhaps I just got a bad one, but you`d think whoever packaged it would look for OBVIOUS damage before sending it.Oh well, I guess.

I bought this for my first-grade son, who reads well but does not enjoy stories. This book is well laid out, full of engaging pictures, and of course a wealth of information. He loves it, and it leads to lots of interesting questions and conversations. Well worth the price.

This book is so good that I am going through it as an adult wanting to review all the basics once again. I think it is a must have for every home with kids. I am buying 2 more copies to give as birthday present. I think it is suitable for any kids above the age of 8.

I'm a sucker for having reference books at my house. I know it's easy to look info up on the internet, but I like to have books to quickly look things up in. I'm a future teacher and I thought this would be a good book to have in the classroom, but I like it so much that I'm going to keep it for myself. The illustrations are wonderful and the information is useful. It covers a wide variety of topics; it doesn't go terribly in-depth but gives a nice general bit of information when you just want quick background knowledge about something.
