Book Description

Fuelled by the explosive growth of the Internet, the Information Age is causing great disruptions in both the public and private sectors. As information becomes more readily available to clients, they become more powerful and demand more control over their transactions and interactions with suppliers. And they're getting it. To succeed, organizations need to differentiate their goods and services by adding value over and above their traditional offerings.

Paul Hoffert coined the expression "The New Client" to describe today's customers — the people who are shaping the new business rules. Not only does he explain these new rules, he also provides examples of what organizations must do to succeed in the coming decades — how they can set themselves apart and add value to their products. These new added values include EMOs, or emotive factors: feeling good, feeling secure, doing good and being in control.

The New Client is a compelling look at existing and upcoming opportunities for prosperity in our increasingly networked world. Bridging the old economy and the new, it's a currency converter that no business can do without.

Paul Hoffert is the author of three books: The New Client: How Customers Shape Business in the Information Age; The Bagel Effect: A Compass to Navigate Our Wired World and All Together Now: Connected Communities.
