4.0 out of 5 stars Great intro to New Zealand April 19 2008
By S. Briggs - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I just recently finished reading this little book, and I definitely recommend it to anyone who doesn't know much about NZ. It is indeed a "quick guide" but it has a surprising amount of information packed into a few pages. My only "complaint" is that the author doesn't mention any negatives--I'm willing to believe it's a wonderful place, but there must be SOMETHING less than fabulous about it. All in all, it was worth the purchase.

3.0 out of 5 stars New Zealand Culture April 28 2009
By Wayne Bokum - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Designed to be a handy pocket guide, this small book provides general, though not particularily detailed information for anyone who is traveling or emigrating to New Zealand. If you are looking for a brief overview of NZ customs and culture, you should find this book helpful.

4.0 out of 5 stars Short & Sweet Jan. 9 2013

Good information about the culture, geography, climate, political situation, currency, humor, customs.

I could have done without the Gay/lesbian guide to living there, but I guess some need that
5.0 out of 5 stars Concise and useful Dec 17 2013
By Michael Worobiec - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I am preparing for an extended stay in NZ and appreciated Butler's overview of the history and customs of NZ. I found her book straightforward and her insight on Kiwi psychology and interacting with natives particularly useful. Hopefully I will now be better able to interact with NZ locals without embarrassing myself of inadvertently offending them!
4.0 out of 5 stars Quick Overview Helps Orientation for Tourist Visit June 23 2013
By James Moore - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Like its counterpart for Australia, this small volume provides a good overview of the history, culture, and contemporary perspectives of the people of New Zealand. Seems just right for the casual tourist/visitor (i.e., yours truly) but probably skimpy for anyone relocating for a longer term.
