Review

This is a different kind of book and it is worth reading on many levels.

It starts off by revealing the problem faced by each individual, and then it shows their capacity to transform their life. When you read Nexus, the wisdom resonates deeply within you, not always consciously but at a soulful level.

Anyone interested in an insightful, original story needs to buy a copy of this book.

-- Divna Sardelic, Teacher, Mother & Spiritual Seeker

Book Description

Nexus offers an engaging and insightful journey of an odd mix of people drawn together to a spiritual retreat to overcome personal pain. This book will please readers of spiritual, new age, inspirational, self-help and visionary fiction books. It weaves insights within the narrative like The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield and The Peaceful Warrior series by Dan Millman.

Starting with a dramatic suicide scene through intimate details of the struggle of Logan Andrews with depression and despair, we are brought on a journey of inner struggle and personal transformation. The reader is transported to a spiritual retreat where the experiences of people at the retreat provide illuminating life lessons. The tone of book creates an authentic journey that is both exploratory and insightful.

The overriding theme in Nexus is mystical in its nature, narrating experiences of deeper connection felt with one another and all of life. This is poignantly highlighted in key passages, including Logan's empathy for a dying fish in Chapter 6.

4.0 out of 5 stars a clear message, Jan 4 2007
This review is from: Nexus: A Neo Novel (Paperback)
A simple story with a simple message, Nexus invites you in to explore the characters' thoughts and feelings along side your own. At first, you can put the book down while you muse and ponder some of the thought-provoking ideas suggested in the early chapters, but then as the story builds and the characters' plights grow, you don't want to put the book down until you have completely finished it. The inspirational messages and life's relevance inbedded in each chapter reinforces what you already deeply know by way of gentle reminders throughout the book. It is a book of hope.

5.0 out of 5 stars Captivating book, Sep 13 2006

Adam G. (Liverpool, England) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Nexus: A Neo Novel (Paperback)
As a friend of the publisher, I received an advance copy of this book before its release in October. The first page got my attention because it begins with a suicide scene. At first, I thought the book might glorify suicide but I soon learned that the novel has a deep spiritual message of compassion, healing and the importance of relationships.

As a fan of similar books by James Redfield, Dan Millman and Robin Sharma, I also loved this story. Though it is different in style and voice. It weaves the voices of two authors into a cohesive and compelling narrative. You rarely see that in fiction.

By the end of the book, I could see what the journey was all about for the main character and everyone else. The book begins dramatically and takes a few chapters to get going but it develops into a wonderful story with many spiritual insights. I felt emotionally satisfied by the end of it and that's always good when a book can do that.

5.0 out of 5 stars What an Amazing Book!!!, Feb 19 2007
By
This review is from: Nexus: A Neo Novel (Paperback)
After you get past the present tense used in this novel, you are taken on a remarkable psychological and spiritual adventure.

I've read many spiritual books but this one succeeds where others fail. It successfully combines a poignant story fraught with true human emotions of personal pain along with remarkable spiritual insights.

If you want a novel that moves you with reflective & meditative qualities, then NEXUS is the perfect book for you.
