Visually lush. The bad guys are very bad, ones you love to hate. Nicholas is a little naive, however the person I couldn't take my eyes off was Jamie Bell as Smike. A real heart-wrencher. Probably missing many bits, it's Dickens after all, but it works very well and flows along. Anne Hathaway is pretty jarring with her fake English accent, but she is nice to look at.
