Book Description

May 1 2007 Dark-Hunter Novels (Book 3)
Dear Reader,
Life is great for me. I have my chicory coffee, my warm beignets, and my best friend on the cell phone. Once the sun goes down, I am the baddest thing prowling the night: I command the elements, and I know no fear. For centuries, I've protected the innocent and watched over the mankind, making sure they are safe in a world where nothing is ever certain. All I want in return is a hot babe in a red dress, who wants nothing more from me then one night.
Instead, I get a runaway Mardi Gras float that tries to turn me into roadkill and a beautiful woman who saves my life but can't remember where she put my pants. Flamboyant and extravagant, Sunshine Runningwolf should be the perfect woman for me. She wants nothing past tonight, no ties, no long-term commitments.
But every time I look at her, I start yearning for dreams that I buried centuries ago. With her unconventional ways and ability to baffle me, Sunshine is the one person I find myself needing. But for me to love her would mean her death. I am cursed never to know peace or happiness-not so long as my enemy waits in the night to destroy us both.
--Talon of the Morrigantes

4.0 out of 5 stars Kudos to Kenyon for another great read! April 2 2011
Format:Mass Market Paperback
As we all know, life does tend to get in the way if the things we love most sometimes! Suffice it to say, the last week has been rather hectic for me and as such, I have decided to forgo a full review this time around. I will, however, share the basics.
Dark Hunter Talon is yet another yummy character with a rather tortured soul. (I think I am starting to see a trend here.)

Sunshine is a rather eccentric artist who turns out to be the reincarnation of Talons wife, who died in childbirth over 1500 years ago.

Ms. Kenyon has created yet another wonderful story that kept this reader thoroughly entertained!

Fav. Comical Quote, pg 98
This is a comment Sunshine made to Selena while talking about her first "day" with Talon:
"Sunshine laughed. "Don't worry. It'll never happen again. You know me, I do date occasionally, but I usually spend at least a few normal, boring days with a guy before we rock the house down. Of course, no one ever rocked my house down the way this guy did. He leveled the mother to its foundations."

Fav. Emotion filled passage, pg. 170
Talon came awake just before sunset with a sick feeling in his stomach.
He felt so alone.
His emotions were raw and tattered. He hadn't felt like this in centuries. Hadn't hurt like this since the night Acheron had taught him to bury his emotions.
Tonight, he truly felt the solitude of his life. The aching burn of it sliced through his chest, and he had to struggle to breath.
Until he caught a whiff of something strange on his skin and in his bed.
Patchouli and turpentine.
Sunshine.

Kudos to Kenyon for another great read!

2.0 out of 5 stars Missed it's potential... Dec 30 2008
By N. Rae
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I am a huge fan of J R Ward's vampire series (the first vampire stories I've ever read). Since I have finished her series (twice over, I might add) I am now searching for some other writers in the genre. Due to the large number of positive feedback reviews for this writer, I was sure I was on to something good. However, this book fell far short of what I've come to expect. I found myself slogging through it, hoping that at some point it would redeem itself, but in the end, it just didn't do it for me. I found the dialogue stilted, the plot not particularly interesting, and much of it just plain unbelievable. There was alot of repetition and the flow was constantly interrupted by secondary characters that became more interesting to me than the central ones. I never got to the point of liking the heroine, Sunshine, so never cared if she got her happily ever after. My advice? Don't waste your time on this book. I will probably try to read another book by this author but if that book is as bad as this one, I'm done!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun, Fast Paced, throughly enjoyable!!!!! Jun 10 2004
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Ms. Kenyon's work just keep getting better and better. I think that this was the most enjoyable book I've read in a while. Talon, an anciet Celtic Chieftain, is a Dark- Hunter (A soulless hunter that is there to protect humans from the soul steal vampires that haunt the night.) When he meets the reincarnation of his wife his seemingly, emtionless life is turned upside down in a fun twisting story that will keep you highly entertained.

A great read, I couldn't put it down!!!!
