This CD is a must have!**** imagine Dragons - Absolute best band ever***** June 3 2015

This is an amazing CD. The DVD that comes with it has a great look at the making of the CD, insight into the band members and how they do their music. It has the Live London sessions and the music videos as well. Love love love it!
If you are not familiar with Imagine Dragons or are only familiar with the key hits like Radioactive or Demons get this and Smoke and Mirrors. You will hear amazing songs that are so deep and meaningful you will be in awe at the impact they have on your very soul!

Okay, I freely admit: I haven't bought this yet, and I don't ordinarily go for live albums (I want to hear the GROUP, not the AUDIENCE), but after comparing/contrasting the sound quality of even the mp3 version of this release in the US vs the YouTube videos for "Demons" and "Radioactive" (the video was NOT what I was expecting! Go see it now!), I was bitterly disappointed in the studio album. Yes, the deliberate distortion tricks work beautifully for "Radioactive," guys (even Weird Al Yankovic reproduced that on his parody of the song on his _Mandatory Fun_ album), but it doesn't work for any other song, especially "Demons." What I want to know, and I haven't seen anyone mention yet on reviews for this version: are the Stupid Producing Tricks used on this one? If not, I'll buy it (well, it's on my Wish List, so hopefully someone else will). If they are on every other song, I won't ("Radioactive" works with it, that can be left alone), and will wait for a properly mastered album. I'd love to get an album with those songs of theirs, because they're rapidly becoming a group I want to buy from! :)

EDIT: I'm guessing, since this has a DVD as well, that that includes the official videos for songs like "Demons"? If so, who knows the name of the song they were singing with Tyler at the end of that? If it's on this album, great! If not, I'll have to look that one up for purchase, too... :)

EDIT again: It came in the mail! Played the DVD first, then the CD 'til I was concerned about it wearing through...went to a lyrics site and got the words, since yeah, it was a live album, and there was much fan participation encouraged, but overall, yep, this is definitely a band I want more of. :)

I've heard it said they distill bad times through the music and cope with things that way, and the lyrics usually bear that out, but dang if the tunes themselves aren't upbeat and catchy, for the most part, and even with the songs I don't want to hear right now, it's because they're striking too many chords within, currently. The brightest, bubbliest tune is "On Top of the World" (love it!) and it's one of the few that doesn't get a lot of airtime on the radio...sigh. :-/

The acoustic versions of "It's Time," "Radioactive," and "Demons" are just as powerful as their "amped" versions, which is the mark of excellent songs, and the four videos on the DVD are definitely worth the price of admission. :D Just: guys, no one except us old farts really know what the film leader things are, and I'm guessing everything you did was digital; it was a little jarring, if it was just for effect. Other than that, sheer awesomeness all around! :)
