I upgraded to this router from Asus RT-N56U which was also a great router but I needed something with higher speed over longer distance. For that purpose, this is the best I could get at the time of the purchase. I have placed this in the basement and I don't have any problem with the signal any where in my 2 story 1700 sq ft house.

Pros:
- Better signal over longer distance
- No signal drops
- Stable firmware
- Able to handle heavy loads without any issue

Cons:
- USB storage is still not very good even at this price. Transfer speed to the attached HDD is slow and the copying files sometimes fail. Heard some issues with file corruptions too but I haven't seen that yet. Fingers crossed.
- Admin GUI could be better.

Overall, this is a great router and I would recommend this definitely. I used the DD-WRT (Kong) firmware on this for a while but was facing signal drops so went back to the Netgear firmware and it is stable now.

I'm just an amateur when it comes to computer stuff usually I can figure things out. I have had this Nighthawk Ac 1900 made by Netgear for about a week now and was it ever easy to set up and does it ever work well. I can roam all around my house now and NOT lose my Wireless Connection and it is set up in my basement I can also walk all around my yard front to back and I still have a an amazing connection It's always on full strength it never even drops one bar. I'm very happy with this Netgear Nighthawk Ac 1900 it is worth every penny I spent on it. The Nicest thing was it is so easy to set up.

This router is great. The Wi-Fi range is excellent and the speed is also great. Simple setup, it took me less than an hour to do the whole setup. I don't know why I have waited so long to make the switch. I have around 10 devices connected to this router (2 PC on LAN, 8+ devices on Wi-Fi). I had a Linksys Router (wireless N - 1/100 Ethernet) for the last 6 years. The Wi-Fi range was not very good on the Linksys. The router is place in my office room. I could only get full bars (WIFI) from the office room and the living room. From the bedrooms and the basement, I only get from 1 to 3 bars on my wireless Equipment (Phones/Tablets/Chromecast/Mini PC/Laptop). With the Netgear Nighthawk, I have full bars in every single room in my house.

I have one PC dedicated to Plex Media Server to share and stream all my Movies, TV shows and Music in my house. With my old router, I could only stream HD movie to the living room without issue. With 2 streaming simultaneously, it will sometimes suffer (Lag or low res). I did a test with the Netgear Nighthawk and I can stream 5 movies to 5 different device (3 TVs and 2 Android Tablet) at the same time and all in HD (1080 and 720) without problem. The only problem was that the CPU of my PC was working 100% to do the transcoding. Normally, we wouldn't have to go over 3 movies steaming at the same time. Ethernet LAN is also much more faster with the GBits.

The Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 is not the fastest router on the market but it is a good one for my needs. The best thing is that the whole family can now enjoy the fast network (Internet, movies, music)from everywhere in the house. Everybody is happy with the router.

Our Nighthawk AC1900 took less than an hour to integrate into our network and since then it's been handling the various computing needs of 6+ mobile devices, 5+ computers and 2+ game consoles with narry a dip in performance. The Nighthawk Ac1900 is my first ever router purchase from Netgear, and as of right now I feel fairly confident in saying that it won't be my last!!!

Been using the Nighthawk for over a month now. Easy setup, great performance, better antenna range then previous models I have used. At least 9 devices connected at all times with three of us streaming TV and movies simultaneously over WIFI and wired without issues. Would recommend if you have a lot of devices and heavy internet use.

Great performance! I bought this router to replace my old one after I had signed up for Netflix and found out there was always a lag watching movies. So I checked the reviews and bought this one. The software is geared towards novices, with minimal input required from the User. However, within the advanced settings, I was able to configure this device the way I wanted it and I have found a significant reduction in buffering. The firmware update was quick and painless. The device has bi-directional slots on the underside, which allowed me to mount it on a wall. There is even an on-off button, which is rare. There is a QoS setting that will allow me to prioritize upload/download preferences. I am very pleased with this purchase! Note: download the software from NetGear BEFORE you disconnect your old router.

Totally satisfied. I have at times like 10 cel phones connected when my kids and their friends are at honme, plus 3 tV's streaming video, xbox, games,3 computers etc,. This product solved all my problems. I have Shaw extreme so you know but this thing is quick and goes everywhere. I like many other people had a D-Link DIR 601 router and just kept experimenting a lot of stuff including an Actiontec Powerline Adapter Kit I put in just to get the signal going from my old router to one TV downstairs. Paid $60 something dollars to solve the problem for one of my 15 devices in the house with this device. I read all the reviews for the NightHawk and was not wrong when I did this buy. I still need to learn when and how to use the 5 GHZ option, the USB ports, etc.
