The novel has been divided into two volumes, The Nightmare Lands and To the Gates of Palanthas, that are sized to fit the young reader market. These titles contain brand new cover art and interior art and are a continuation of the overall young reader adaptation of the entire Dragonlance Chronicles trilogy.

About the Author

Margaret Weis is the author of numerous Dragonlance novels, many of them co-written with Tracy Hickman. She is also the author of the Star of the Guardian novels and co-authored with Don Perrin the novels Robot Blues, Knights of the Black Earth, Brothers in Arms, The Doom Brigade, Draconian Measures, and Hung Out.

Tracy Hickman, in addition to his work on the Dragonlance line, has co-authored with Margaret Weis the Darksword series and the Death Gate Cycle. He is the designer of the game setting Starshield and is the author of the futuristic novel The Immortals.

this book was great the companions get split up and right as your about to find something out it goes to someone else and there is a big surprise at the begining of the next book so you have to read this book if you like dragon lance

This book, as well as the other two, has excellent pacing, as well as a captivating plot and character development. You learn about the companions and their struggles in their lives, as well as the world. The creatures and geography are classical, but with a modern day writing style. This makes the over all experience satisfying.
