4.0 out of 5 stars Much better than original 3ds but still lacking Nov. 11 2013

The 3ds xl is great in terms of feel and screen size compared to the original 3ds. The construction feels more solid and while there is no increase in resolution on the screen you quickly get used to the minor pixelation and I could not go back to using the smaller screen. Battery life is still exceptionally poor though and has to be charge after much more than 3 hours just like the original 3ds.

4.0 out of 5 stars pretty awesome Oct. 20 2013

The 3DS is great but there are some features. Compared to other hand held game systems, this is probably the most kid friendly and protects kids from searching the internet so I think in that sense it good for a younger generation. The 3D is barely used. I always turn it off because it makes me dizzy.

My five year old is hard on toys and although he does not play video games all day, he really enjoys playing his DS on road trips and takes this with him everywhere he goes. He has dropped it, and misused it somewhat for almost a year now and it works like the day we bought it. Easy to use and has lots of memory. My son takes pictures and videos or creatures outside all the time and uses his ds for exploring. It has internet capability for other online games and activities, but we haven't bothered to even set that up as he uses it for so many other things and we do not want him on the internet yet anyway. If this one were to break or get lost, I would buy it again in a heart beat!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it July 3 2014
Came in perfect condition, box had 2-3 slight dents but at better than the 3DS itself having them.

Great handheld console, great selection of games, and the battery time on it is pretty good at about 4 or so hours before needing to recharge. Only complain is the shape of it does tend to bug your hands sometimes after long play sessions so getting a comfort grip for it is a must for anything more than casual play.

Lives up to the hype as the XL version of the 3DS is bigger overall with a much more refined look and feel versus the regular 3DS.

4.0 out of 5 stars I have big hands, you too? June 12 2013
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
3DS is grand, and if you have big hands, this is brilliant, the games are often fabulous, steet pass is far superior to near, and it counts your steps outside as a pedometer. More developers should use it, Nintendo should maybe lighten up on idea men and indie developers in regards to their SDKs and all that. High security this and that, come on. I rather play Retro City on this than Vita. This at least lets you buy and use regular memory cards unlike Vita which uses downloads, free ones, as a way to peddle over priced exclusive sony Vita memory cards. I have a huge SD card that cost me next to nothing in comparison.

Hey Zelda Oracle series is out on the shop now, and so much other awesome games. Not all, but damn it is awesome. Black Gate is looking rather awesome too. Can't wait.

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
What can I say, bigger is better, and with the 3ds xl, this is definitely the case.
The larger screen does make it much easier to play titles such as resident evil revelations, and Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater
