Perfect MARIO KART for DS like SNES,

If you loved the SNES Mario Kart, you will definitely adore this! I'm not very good at games like my brother but I do love racing games. In SNES it was rather limiting to the characters you can play, as you could not control the character's "weight" as I mainly chose the Mushroom head character. Sorry I have no idea what his name is as it's soo late. ^^;I love the new characters and types of go-karts as you get better scores. My fav. character is the Skull as he looks cool and easy to control. The Robot is cool too but I still prefer the Skull for most of the levels. All the levels from the SNES to my recollection are in here EXCEPT for the GHOST LEVELS! ;_; They added a similar ghost level near water and new levels but I really do miss the original ghost levels. What made the DS so appealing to me is the ability to play with random people around the world or with your friends. Mind you it does take a LONG time for DS to connect and gather people for a race. It's also annoying that if someone disconnects, the race freezes and after a few mins of thinking "wth" you get an error. Either someone left or you lost the internet connection. Haven't personally tried among my friends as none of them are interested in investing this game system. =(

If you were feeling let down by Mario Kart Double Dash, this game should cheer you up. It doesn't rely on the 2 person gimmick, instead pits each of you into a kart each. As usual, the controls are more like the SNES/GBA versions. There is nothing like playing a 60 FPS game where nearly all the characters are recognizable, even some of the hidden characters. This gives the game some added charm, since it beats playing as characters you've never heard of. First off, you have your single player, which is the traditional time trials, and grand prix. 1/2 of the courses are new, while the other 1/2 is a collection of courses from past games, which is nice to have. There is also a new mission mode, where normally goes up to 6 levels, but 7 if you get one star ranking in every mission. Multiplayer is good, you can either play DS download, where non-hosts play as Shy Guy, but you can only choose a total of 8 racetracks. You can also play the battle modes Shine Runners and Balloon Burst in both of these modes. The faster and more recommended way is Multi Card where everyone can choose their own character. It can go up to 8 players, 2 times as much as wi-fi, and the host chooses the options. Wi-fi is online mode, of course you have to set up your wirless connection. If you don't have a wirless connection, you use a USB connector. Everyone chooses their characters, and votes for their map. You play 4 maps, and the player with the most points (duh) wins. Of course, you have a friend roster where you can enter friend codes. This is really handy if you want to race with people you know, especially if they are your same skill level. Customization is quite limited, but still good. You can enter an online nickname (also for offline races) and create an emblem. You can draw it from scratch, or choose a pre-shape. The colour pallate could of had a wider selection, but you can still make some pretty cool creations. Overall, YES. This is the best mario kart game ever released, since of the online play. Buy this if you are on the go a lot, this is one of the finer DS games 5/5
