As HDTV adoption rate increases, the Wii's composite video capabilities become a less attractive option for consumers. Component cables make a substantial difference in video quality over the included composite cables, and this is evident in Wii, WiiWare and many Virtual Console games. In addition, it is not necessarily a subtle difference, as both my gamer and non-gamer friends have noticed the overall picture to be sharper and clearer.With official cables, you know you are getting good quality. Unofficial cables do exist however, and for much cheaper prices. I have tried a few sets of these cables and, although the better resolution is evident, banding and noise are sometimes introduced into the image. Overall, component cables are a necessary part of the Wii experience for compatible TVs. If you're willing to spend a little extra, you can be assured of the quality of these official cables. Otherwise, you can try the unofficial cables, although you may have to go through a couple of sets before you find the ideal solution.

These component cables are a must have to enhance the graphics of the games. It's high definition for gamers and the difference make the purchase worth every penny.

It worked - no problems. Expensive, but no hassles.For non-AV fanatics, the visual difference is not all that great, but it's definitely there.
