4.0 out of 5 stars Plumber Goal Sept. 6 2011
By Michael Kerner - Published on Amazon.com
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
There is no question that when it has came down to Mario, he has been one of the most influential video game characters of all time. His influence on gaming for over 25 years has been absolutely strong and definitely withstands the test of time, in more ways than one. Not just in his escapades with trying to save Princess Toadstool from the clutches of Bowser, but also in sports as well. The gaming genius has been so strong not just in gaming, but bringing sports to a young generation of Nintendo gamers. With Nintendo set to wind down the Wii soon, it still isn't too late to go back and buy those classic Wii games you've missed out on the first time around, and get a new chance of gaming your way to the top, Mario's way in soccer, and that is just a goal away.

Mario Strikers Charged for the Nintendo Wii, as a part of the new Nintendo Selects series, that re-introduces classic Wii games at a cheaper price to those who've missed out on the Wii the first time around. In Mario Strikers Charged, Mario and his friends are at it again on the soccer field, as they go against each other in tournaments that are even wilder than Super Mario Strikers had shown from the Nintendo Gamecube era. The object of the game is to try and out score each other, and rise above the rankings in tournament mode. There are so many great charcters to play from Mario, Wario and Yoshi, to Luigi and Daisy. The gameplay fares well, and the graphics really look amazing, bringing Mario and his friends into a fierce melee of action, and the sound stands out well. The control takes a bit to get used to, unlike the Gamecube version. It takes awhile to control on kicking. You have to be very percise to score your goals, and at times that can be very rough. But as you play, you really can get your rhythm down. The gameplay also fares better as you can battle your foes online as well, as one of the first Wii games to battle your friends via wi-fi.

Overall, Mario Strikers Charged isn't a bad game to master, and play. If you've recently bought a Wii, or never played Mario Strikers Charged the first time around, than give Mario Strikers Charged a try. If you've also loved Mario Super Sluggers and the recent Mario Sports Mix, than I really suggest Mario Strikers Charged. It can be a more than a goal away, but honestly the fun can be more than a just a fireball kick away.

Sound: B

Control: B-

Fun & Enjoyement: B for solo play; B 1/2+ for multiplayer

Overall: B 1/2-

4.0 out of 5 stars simple but lots of fun! Oct. 10 2011

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
This game's tons of fun! I play with my brother for hours at a time. It's easy to pick up, like most mario games. It's easy to learn and enjoy, too! The single player can get really challenging but I still play multi-player most often. You need a nunchuk for each player, though. That might be a problem.
It was only 20 bucks for me, which is great for a game to just relax and have fun with it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Didn't know soccer could be this fun Dec 15 2012

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
The wife just picked this up at Wal-Mart (sorry Amazon, she didn't know better) and we sat down and played for 5 hours straight to the points our Wii-mote batteries died and our faces hurt from laughing. We have all the Mario/Nintendo Wii sports games and like them all but this one is just way more fun. Super Sluggers was our previous favorite. We're in our 40's but still love most of the Nintendo fare. The game starts with 10 quick lessons (optional) that will get you in the action and playing a full game really fast. Despite its age, the advent of the Wii U, and SD graphics it looks and plays great. It was only $19 as Wal-mart but still the $22 price tag on Amazon is OK. I'm not sure why Amazon is charging more since the Nintendo Selects games have been $19 everywhere. Oh well. Is it too hard for kids? I don't know. It probably is fine for kids 11+. The one star is deducted for the major fault in all Nintendo games. . . the CPU cheats!!

Bought this for someone else since it's such a fun game that I knew he'd enjoy. It's easy to pick up and play right out of the box too which always helps. Yoshi all the way!!
