5.0 out of 5 stars Chilling and terribly important May 19 2011

Male-on-male sexual assaults are rampant in United States prisons. This book sets out to document and prove that fact. In the upcoming debates on the Prison Rape Elimination Act, an educated observer or participant must have read this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars The reality in male prisons Aug 14 2005
By Cristina Galdames - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I read this in the site of Human Rights Watch, a human rights organization. It's an inform about male rape in US prisons. It is shocking, incredible. I didn't know anything about it when I read it. Is something everyone, especially in the US, should read.

I recommend to visit the site of another human rights organization, especially dedicated to the issue of prison rape, called Stop Prisoner Rape (www.spr.org), where there is plenty of information, more detailed.

From Human Rights Page:

"Human Rights Watch undertook three years of research to expose the problem of male rape in U.S. prisons. The resulting 378-page report is based on information from over 200 prisoners spread among thirty-four states, some of whom were interviewed personally, as well as an exhaustive survey of state prison authorities.

Certain prisoners are targeted for sexual assault the moment they enter a penal facility: their age, looks, sexual orientation, and other characteristics mark them as candidates for abuse."
