Book Description

Does the word "networking" make you cringe? Maybe that is why many shy away from the very skill that can help them personally and professionally. In Nonstop Networking author and personal marketing consultant, Andrea Nierenberg, reveals unique and easy-to-use strategies for linking-up with people in order to achieve mutual personal and professional goals. Based on five simple steps, Andrea's system is different from other networking techniques in that it focuses on comfortable and familiar techniques for building relationships and not on handing out business cards and asking for referrals. Readers will discover positive ways to network anywhere, any time and the secret of how to build relationships that will improve their life, luck, and career. Learn twelve techniques to use when approaching a room full of strangers, master eight sure-fire communications skills, discover the types of people you need in your network (and that may already be a part of your circle of contacts.) Are you shy or introverted? Learn networking techniques that capitalize on your natural abilities. Are you anxious about keeping track of all your contacts? Andrea presents an elegantly simple system for organizing and staying in touch with everyone in your network. Easy to read with many examples of personal success stories throughout, Nonstop Networking is a must have for recent graduates, job seekers, career changers, consultants, entrepreneurs, or anyone with a personal or professional goal to achieve.

As an entrepreneur turned professional speaker, I suddenly found myself out of the living room and into the business world. I found myself feeling uncomfortable and nervous at business networking functions. This simple yet profound book showed me how to build a network including conversation starters, mustering the courage to network, how to be a good listener, and how to organize my contacts. Now, I feel ready to network in every situtation imaginable. Andrea shows anyone how to open their heart, connect with others and build lasting relationships in business. Nonstop Networking has transformed me, a networking wallflower into a successful social butterfly. Highly Recommended! A must read for anyone serious about growing their business!

5.0 out of 5 stars As a Job Search Coach, I Found It Most Helpful Oct. 27 2003
Format:Hardcover
As a Career Coach and Counselor for two church groups in Southern California, I am a proponent of the networking methodology for job-search. I just finished reading Andrea Nierenberg's "Nonstop Networking" and found it an excellent guide to the whole networking scene. For sales and marketing, job-search and advancement, political and religious outreach, this is the way to make and keep contacts and cultivate lasting mutually beneficial relationships.
I highly recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars a very concise networking book Aug. 8 2003
Format:Hardcover
I just bought and finished reading the book. I am writing this review to help those who are deciding whether or not this book is a good buy. If you want a quick read on networking that is thorough enough to be your reference do buy the book. I am polishing my database as well as doing my calls and notes on schedule inspired by Andrea. Andrea, congratulations for a strong and very well written book. I look forward to attending your seminar and perhaps networking with you in person one of these days.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Only Networking Book You'll Ever Need June 19 2003
Format:Hardcover
Andrea's book demystifies the notion about networking that an exchanged business card and a handshake lead to immediate results. Instead, she reminds her reader that the best business is done between people that know, trust and like eachother - feelings that can only genuinely develop over time.
She shares "how to" network based on personality types, interests and more, and also how to keep your network alive in practical ways.
I've taken Andrea's book to heart and am having more fun than ever, building deeper and more meaningful connections, personally and professionally. This book will truly improve your life, luck and career, just as Andrea says it will!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Non-Stop Read May 6 2003
Format:Hardcover
I bought Non-Stop Networking after hearing Andrea speak, and had it read by the end of the day. I have been in transition for over a year and found it stimulating and helpful. The format makes it an easy read but there is a lot of meat here, and I will be recommending it to all my colleagues. I will also be giving it to my son who is a Theater major at college, since he is already starting to network with visiting directors and such. In summary, the best book on networking I have seen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stephen Desmond April 22 2003
Format:Hardcover
This is a classic. The author has written astoundingly clearly on this subject without a wasted word.
The main premise is that while networkers can benefit from working a flexible system they can also have fun in the process. The book encourages natural and real behaviour in order to cultivate healthy win-win relationships with other people.
The author explains the characteristics of confident networkers and how to acquire these skills. There are also tips on expanding and maintaining your database. Perhaps the strongest part of the book is the system for organising your network so that you can keep in touch with people.
All in all this book is a unique blueprint for building relationships. A must buy.
