Love This Writer's Style Aug. 21 2012

If you haven't dipped into a Judith Van Gieson mystery yet, you have a genuine treat coming. And if you love the Southwest as much as I do, you have a double-double treat. Great story, true-to-life plot, humor, and learning about real issues all in the mix. Even Tony Hillerman describes her as a "classy writer" - which pretty much covers it. You won't be disappointed by any of her books, and especially not this one. Highly recommend her.
I relate to main character so I'll read them all Aug. 4 2015

The lead character of this series reminds me so much of my (somewhat younger) self that it's hard to be objective. She likes super-spicy food, Etta James, being her own boss, being single but with a sexy Hispanic guy in her life, helping underdogs, Southwestern style culture, and so on. The mysteries themselves aren't the cleverest ever to unravel but I'll read all these books because I like the main characters and the New Mexico setting.
