5.0 out of 5 stars Sousa Marches are Wonderful, but this is BETTER!!! April 8 2009
By Morgan Alicia Gates - Published on Amazon.com
This is the second edition of a great compilation of military music. Sousa is the superstar of military band music, but these tracks are really great. Many people don't ever get past stars and stripes forever, but these tracks will take you far past Yankee Doodle. They may not be by Sousa but they are just as brilliant and inspiring. You will enjoy each one as much as your Sousa favorites and you'll get to know some of the other great names in this vibrant area of music. Sousa may not have written any of these tracks but it's a good bet he wishes he had. This second set of great Not Sousa music will inspire and educate if you have Not Sousa 1 get this one and if you don't have either get both.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not Sousa II Dec 10 2008
By coopsgirl - Published on Amazon.com

Not Sousa II features more marches not by John Philip Sousa. He wasn't the only talented composer of military marches! I like it because it features songs that don't get as much recognition but are just as good as Sousa's compositions. Great album!

BULLY! Who's doesn't like a good march now and then? Here are many familiar marches, not written by Sousa but still heart pounding in their own right!
5.0 out of 5 stars Better Than Vol. 1 Nov. 14 2012
By Roger Kennedy - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
This second edition of the Not Sousa series gets into lesser known marches along with standard favorites. These recordings are taken from different time periods and include some live performances as well. Some people have a problem with Altissimo! doing this. On the one had I agree, but since US service bands are not allowed to produce commercial CDs how else can the public get access to this music in the US? Unfortunately Directors of Music are not listed in the linear notes so we don't have a time frame as to when these were taken. This is odd as this was done with vol 1. There is also a march "Up The Street" which has no linear notes or composer listed. Must be a typo. Too bad as its a good march too. Would like to know who did it. Despite production quality, for a good collection of slightly off-beat marches this is not a bad product. As the series progresses perhaps it would include more obscure works.
